Kids & Teens Ballroom Classes
Learn to dance Latin, Ballroom & More!
In the kids and teenage ballroom classes we teach all three styles of ballroom:
Modern Ballroom, Latin American & New Vogue, as well as some Street Latin and
Rock’n’Roll. Twice a year we hold medal exams for those wishing to earn themselves
a trophy. This class is a stepping stone towards competition and is also a huge
confidence booster.
No special clothing! No fuss for parents!
No special footwear or clothing is necessary. All pupils are expected to dress
in a neat, casual manner. Parents are not expected to make, sew, hire or purchase
costumes for floorshows or performances. We try to use themes where the pupils
can find appropriate clothing from their own wardrobe.
No compulsory concerts or exams.
At Simply Dancin the emphasis is on FUN. It is not compulsory for our pupils to
perform in concerts, floorshows or exams. We hold a floorshow
class once a week for those pupils wishing to perform at our Christmas function
at the end of the year. All pupils attending this class do so by choice.
We hold medal examinations twice a year. The pupil may still do the class and
learn the dances but is not expected to dance the exam if they don't wish to. They may
progress to the next level without doing the exam.
Family Friendly
Parents are welcome to stay and watch. The studio includes a small kitchen where
parents may make themselves a tea or coffee. Plus we
are close to a number of family restaurants where you may buy sandwiches, pizza, drinks, etc.

Tuesday 6 - 7pm
Fees - up front or pay-as-you-go.
Kids
$11 per class or $90 per term (10 weeks)
Teens/Adults
$13 per class or $110 per term (10 weeks)
Teen Class Structure
In 2010 the Teenage Class will divided in to two groups: Beginners and Advanced. The Beginners group will be for all new pupils without dancing experience. The advanced group is for all our existing pupils. The advanced group will be working on two medals at the same time: Gold Latin (commencing with Jive) and Silver Modern (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot & Quickstep). The silver medal will take the entire year to complete. It is possible to complete the gold jive in the first semester, but will more likely also take the entire year.
A competition class will run immediately before the teenage class for those pupils who are interested. Please visit our Dancesport page for more information.
