Simply Dancin first opened its doors in 1993. In 2001 Simply Dancin changed hands and is now
operated by Brenda Eland.

Brenda first became involved in ballroom dancing at the age of 13 and was immediately hooked. She also dabbled in jazz ballet and hip hop, including competition, but always returned to ballroom dancing.
Brenda started competing at the age of 18, (so, yes, there is hope for all of you out there who think you're too old!) and placed 2nd in the Professional Latin at the Australian Dancesport Championships in 2001. Brenda retired from competition in 2002 but continued to dance as a latin dancer in a 6 man show at the Copacobanna International restaurant in Fitzroy twice a week.
Mission Statement
The mission of Simply Dancin is to provide an environment where people can come and be a part of something without being judged and be accepted for who they are as they learn to dance, enabling them to become confident dancers and a caring, involved member of the studio.

I came to Simply Dancin' about 7 years ago after my divorce. I was looking to get out of the house, meet people, and have fun.
I did all those things - I also did a lot more. I made lifelong friends, who I care deeply about, while I developed a love for dancing.
Please don't get me wrong, the first set of ten lessons were great fun, but difficult to get the hang of. With encouragement, perseverance, and a bit of practice, I did manage to learn what Brenda and the other teachers were so patiently helping me with.
Now, when I go to places with music, I am one of the people up on the dance floor having a ball - while other blokes sit around being bored.
The Simply Dancin' studio has been an incredibly important part of my life. The teachers there are marvellously competent and helpful. The people who go there to dance, and learn to dance, are warm and friendly. The venue itself is one of the best in Melbourne.
I have danced at a number of different locations, and I keep coming back to Simply. The atmosphere is unbeatable.

Hi our names are Lorraine & Maurie we joined the Simply Dancin studio 3 1/2 years ago. Never having danced before we were a little unsure of what to expect.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming and as the first of our lessons started we found them to be extremely patient. We were taught dances we had only seen on television but never in wildest dreams thought that we would be able to do….but we did and now we can!
What surprised us the most was the enjoyment and the satisfaction we felt after every lesson, the staff are talented and entertaining and before we knew it we’ve learnt another dance.
Entering the studio now is like being at home.
We have made many new friends there and the rapport we have with Brenda and the staff is fantastic.
The studio has a really friendly atmosphere and there’s always someone on hand if you need that little extra help.
